High Deaf

This Wired News article answers a lot of common questions about HD, like what are the differences between Blu-ray and HD DVD video? Wait! Come up with your answer, then read on...
The main difference that the average consumer will notice is that one of them has "Blu" in the name. This means that the market is largely divided into those who find comic misspellings charming, and those who don't. Sony is counting on the support of people who frequent restaurants with names like Kountry Kitchen and E-Z Stop-N-Eat.

Yeah, that's pretty much how the average Joe is looking at it as he scratches his head. I, on the other hand, don't have any preoccupation with the need to understand technology before I know I must have it. I'm buying both. Anyone want to make an anonymous donation to my HDTV fund?

Oh.My.Goodness.

I went from laughter at Sjoberg's sarcastic wit to tears at your closing comments: "I, on the other hand, don't have any preoccupation with the need to understand technology before I know I must have it".

Sometimes, you worry me just a little bit. ;-)

Good article, btw.

"worry me just a LITTLE bit?"

It is strange how we are fascinated with technology or are resigned to it. It does seem there can be a middle ground!

For months, our cable TV got consistently worse. The other day I gave in and called the cable guy. He came shortened cables, replaced ends, tightened connections, etc... and it looks 1000 times better. I feel like I have HD!

I will donate $5. Because I like you.

Thanks Paul. Now only 5,994.99 to go!

Hmm, I wonder if it's compatible with the iPhone?

I must admit confusion upon seeing the title 'High Deaf'. My first inclination was that you were saying "Hi" the the deaf, a in a very demeaning and socially awkward way; or maybe that it was a sorry about a person who went deaf from using controlled substances.

I soon wrapped my head around the fact that this was actually a post about High Def, and I'm hoping that this means that you are throwing in with the Blu-ray Kountry Kitchen people. I just humorous spellings.

Piece Owt

Paul: don't forget those who refuse to accept it. I sometimes fall in that category. For instance, I don't even HAVE a TV nor do I really want one.

Velk: you should have put a disclaimer on that--it's really obvious that I'm not actually working when I'm staring at my computer screen and laughing hysterically.

And for the record, I strongly oppose the "Kountry Kitchen" krowd.
