"I didn't see that school bus."

A CNN article today highlighted an interesting and tragic problem - motorists not stopping for school buses. Apparently, many motorists who have been cited for passing a stopped school bus (with red flashing lights and pop-up stop signs), claim that they "didn't see that school bus." How distracted must you be to not notice a 5-ton, bright-yellow bus with flashing red lights? To alleviate any paranoia that school buses are somehow unsafe, rest assured that riding a school bus is safer than riding in a passenger car, airplane or train.

i know i have bad vision, but i'm not THAT blind. and anyway, i think it's usually the diesel fumes pumped directly into my car's air supply that get me to notice the massive vehicles.
